The name can sometimes be misleading, as blackout curtains come in various colours and style and even fabrics. The best white blackout curtains are very often used these days in hospitals, home or science laboratories, not to mention sleep clinics or photographic studios. They can provide a high level of privacy between two patients' beds, they can offer the proper environment for the use of light sensible substances, they can provide a perfect atmosphere of relaxation and give the impression of night time for those who are sleep deprived, or they can simply allow photographers manipulate artificial light by blocking all the natural light from the windows of a photo studio. There is a great variety of colours and styles and fabrics when it comes to this type of curtains, although there is a general assumption that they are all black.
