Dirty Harry was a cop who always broke the rules to get the back guy. Charles Bronson had movies about getting revenge on people when the police couldn't catch them. Since people were made at the government, people liked movies about people who took things into their own hands and solved problems.

Everyone rushed to buy 3D glasses- broadcast 3D on television • Stars became bigger, more diverse genres appeared. • Movies like Grease and Saturday Night Fever not only made movies popular, but made John Travolta a teen heart-throb • Thrillers, comedies, action, sports, and musicals were all becoming popular: • “…Rocky was a nice relief- it didn’t use foul language or sexual overtones, it was just inspirational- rooting for the underdog became the American theme.”
