Harmony. There are 2 aspects of harmony. Unity Variety. UNITY. Unity occurs when all the parts of a home or room are related by one idea. A unified design has consistency of style. VARIETY. When two or more different elements of design are used to add interest to a design.

  2. UNITY • Unity occurs when all the parts of a home or room are related by one idea. • A unified design has consistency of style

  3. VARIETY • When two or more different elements of design are used to add interest to a design. • Variety can be achieved by combining different styles and materials, as long as they are compatible.

  4. HARMONY • Is achieved when unity and variety are effectively combined. • Carrying variety too far creates confusion. • A lack of unity may make a small home seem even smaller.

Copy and paste it to a word document and complete the assignment on the same page. List 15 items that create unity in the room focused around the theme you’ve selected. To create interest how did they incorporate variety in the items selected? Include each of the elements: line, form, space, shape, color, texture, pattern. Email it to me. When you are done you can start your portfoilo.
