1. Golf is a famous sport club-and-ball sport game in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible.Here's a brief history of the game. A BRIEFHISTORYOF GOLF 15TH-CENTURY Golf was originated in the 15 the century in Scotland, the ancient origins of game is still unclear and much debated. A portion of the history specialists trace the game back to the Roman game of Paganica. 1744 Rules of golf written by the Gentlemen Golfers of Leith and The first Rules of Golfare set out by the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. 1860 Golf was played in Ayrshire,  Scotland. 1885 The Royal Liverpool Golf Club established the British Amateur Championship– Hoylake hosted the first tournament. 1873 Montreal established the first permanent golf club in North America. 1894 United States Golf Association (USGA) was  formed in New York with five charter members. 1910 267 Clubs Claimed USGA membership. 1916 Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) was  formed and the first PGA Championship took place at Siwanoy Country Club in New York. 1922 United States team won the first Walker Cup at Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York. 1934 Bobby Jones was instrumental in designing Augusta National Golf Club, where the first Masters took 1946 place. United States Women’s Open was staged for the first time in 1946 at Spokane Country Club in Washington and four years later the Ladies’ Professional Golfers’ Association (LPGA) was formed. 1952 R&A and the USGA have worked together to produce a common set of rules for golfers worldwide called the “Rules of Golf.”  The rules are revised every four years.
