  2. INTRODUCTION Cameroon: “Africa in Miniature” Location: Central and West Africa at the Golf of Guinea Geographic coordinates: 6°North of the equator, Longitude: 12°East of the Greenwich meridian Surface area: 183,568squaremiles (475,440 square kilometers)

  7. Ethnic and cultural diversity • There are more than 300 wonderful tourist attractions, 240 ethnic groups offering beautiful attractions, traditional and diverse culture.

  8. TOURISM POTENTIALS • Its numerous and diversify resources offers the best conditions for the development of exotic tourism products: • Seaside Tourism; in kribi, Mouanko, yoyo, Limbe, EkondoTiti and Bakassi on the Atlantic coast;

  10. CULTURAL TOURISM • Cultural tourism; this brings out the rich ethnic diversity of the country especially in the Western and Northern regions of Cameroon;

  12. ECO-TOURISM • Ecotourism practiced in national parks like Korup, Dja reserve which is classified as a world heritage site by UNESCO and the Mount Cameroon which has a height of 4070 meters above sea level;

  13. AGRO TOURISM • Agro-tourism which is practiced in the agro industrial regions of Cameroon like the Litoral, West, North west and Southwest regions;

  14. SPORTS & ADVENTURE TOURISM • Adventure tourism: trekking in the mountains, walking in the forests, and sailing by canoes along big rivers;

  15. BUSINESS TOURISM • Business tourism and conferences in metropolitan cities like Douala and Yaoundé.

II- Some investment opportunities. • The construction of important tourism complexes along the Atlantic coast, seaside resorts and holiday villages; • The construction of hotels in urban areas and tourist zones; • The creation of amusement parks; • The development of tourism attractions; • The organization of charter flights; • The setting up of facilities for the organization of cruises on major rivers and along the Atlantic coast; • The privatization of state owned hotels.

III- MEASURES TAKEN TO ENCOURAGE INVESTMENTS • To encourage and develop tourism in Cameroon, the state has put in place a legal framework for the development of tourism: this is the law no. 98/006 of 16th April 1998 relating to tourism activities. • The facilitation of procedures to obtain license and authorizations in tourism related activities, • Authorization of charter flights from all foreign destinations in case of groups,

III- MEASURES TAKEN TO ENCOURAGE INVESTMENTS • The opening of a Tourism Information Office in Paris, Washington DC and Beijing; • The creation of a National Tourism Council headed by H.E. the Prime Minister, head of government to ensure the implementation of all measures necessary for the development of tourism in Cameroon; • Law no 2013/004 of 18 April 2013, definingincentives for privateinvestment in the Republic of Cameroon
