30 Hours Free Childcare • HMRC Improving Process • Autumn Estimate 8500 children • 4th Largest in Country • 1st September 2018 – Foster Carers Eligible • Must be in additional paid work / and complements care plan of the child agreed with Social Worker • Early Years Handbook Updated – September 2018 www.hertfordshire.gov.uk
Childcare Sufficiency Report • Published in July 2018 • 2545 Ofsted Providers – 292 Schools /1369 Childminders / 884 Group Providers • 6 New Day Nurseries opened in Hertfordshire • 96% of Providers Good and Outstanding • 85% of parents are happy with the childcare they access • Location of provision main priority for parents choosing provision • 77% of parents with a child with SEND state the childcare they access meets their needs • Families access an average of over 19 hours of care per week www.hertfordshire.gov.uk

Early Years Finance 18 -19 • Meeting with providers held on 06/09/18 to discuss funding changes made in 18/19 and issues • Proposals for altering how budget share is calculated including deprivation funding was discussed • Paper will go to Schools Forum to start finance consultation for FY 19-20 • Survey to be produced and publicized and will be open for at least 6 weeks during October/November – open to all providers for feedback • This will then be reviewed and a formal proposal worked up to be taken back to Schools Forum for sign off • Please refer to FSC news / Schools bulletin for updates www.hertfordshire.gov.uk
Childrens Centres Recommissioning • Evolving into Family Centres • Integration with Public Health Nursing • No centres lost / 4 Quadrants • Aims to continue to support families and providers in their locality • New service from 1st October 2018 www.hertfordshire.gov.uk
