Menno Public School • One-to-one school district in the high school; availability of technology in MS and EL. • 70/30 veteran to new staff • Reading and math scores met AYP • Teacher surveys indicate that 21st Century skills are not fully utilized in classrooms • Teachers have a variety of technology available to them, but they do not have the knowledge and expertise to fully utilize them in their classrooms. • Student data is collected annually • Most rooms have IWB technology including the colonies. • 270 kids • 99% Caucasian • We have two Hutterite colony schools with students that are considered ELL

  2. Menno Public PD Plan • 2011-2012 PD Goal: Increase the use of the available technology and 21st Century Skills in the classroom by 20%.

Action steps • Pre, ongoing, and post surveys given to all teaching staff in August, December, and May. • Creation and implementation of a WebCT course for the entire staff that focuses on a specific 21st Century Skill or technology to be used in his/her classroom monthly. Looking into taking this as a 1 credit course. • “Tech Tuesdays” to supplement the WebCT material on how to use Web 2.0 tools and 21st Century Skills.
