OBJECTIVE(1) • While MCQ are highly efficient for testing "knows" or "knowledge,“ its use in assessing "shows how" or "does" is limited • Similarly, OSCEs, although efficient in assessing "shows how," are rather impractical if one wants to test a large amount of knowledge at the lower "knows" level.
