  2. In The Beginning • Kix Brooks born May 12th 1955 in Louisiana. • Brooks moved to Nashville in 1979. • Ronnie Dunn born June 1st 1953 in Texas. • Ronnie joined “Duke’s Country” in Oklahoma.

  3. Coming Together After finding their solo careers were not working out, Tim DuBois brought the duo together. They both had very different personalities, but it worked.

  4. Early Success The duo’s first single turned into a number one song. Their first album in 1991 brought five total singles which all made the top ten. In 1996 the duo won CMA Entertainer of the Year.

  5. Success After Failure • 1999 the duo talked about splitting up. • The pair experienced a slump with singles being as low as they have seen. • In 2001 the duo turned it around with the very popular “Ain’tNothin’ ‘Bout You” which spent six weeks in the number one spot. • After the 9 -11 tragedy people fell in love with their single “Only in America”, which also topped the charts.

  6. Late Success • 2003 released the very popular “Red Dirt Road” album. • 2004 the duo hosted the CMA Awards show. • 2005 released the CMA Single of the Year “Believe”. They also won both ACM and CMA song of the Year awards.

  7. In the End 2009 the greatest duo in country music history announced they are going their separate ways after their “Last Rodeo Tour” in 2010. In a joint statement they said: "After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time to call it a day. This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed .... We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them. It's just time."

  12. “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” • Guitar starts the line dance beat • Music gets load and steady • Vocals flow with the dance • The steady beat fades and the dance is over

  13. “My Maria” • Song starts slow with excellent vocals • Second verse the beat picks up • Vocals go very high in the chorus • The chorus is the main focus throughout the song

  14. “Red Dirt Road” • Guitar starts the song with the vocals • Excellent solo’s throughout the song • Song takes you to memories of growing up
