1. ٧٨: سُورَة النَبَإ78: The Great News

2. عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُون (١) What are they asking each other about?

3. عَنِ النَّبَإِ العَظِيمِ(٢) About the great news.

4. ا لَّذِى هُم فِيهِ مُختَلِفُونَ(٣) About which they are in disagreement.

5. كَلَّا سَيَعلَمُونَ (٤) No! They are going to know.

6. ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعلَمُون(٥) Then, no! They are going to know.

7. الَم نَجعَلِ ال اَرضَمِهَادَا(٦) Have We not made the Earth a place of rest?

8. وَلجِبَالَ اَوتَادَا(٧) And the mountains as pegs?

9. وَخَلَقنَاكُم اَزوَاجَا(٨) And We created you in pairs.

10. وَجَعَلنَا نَومَكُم سُبَاتَا(٩) And made your sleep a means for rest.

11. وَجَعَلنَ اللّيلَ لِبَاسَا(١٠) And made the night as a covering.

12. وَجَعَلنَاالنَّهَارَمَعَاشَا(١١)وَجَعَلنَاالنَّهَارَمَعَاشَا(١١) And made the day a means for working and livelihood.

13. وَبَنَينَا فَوقَكُم سَبَعَن شِدَادَا(١٢) And made above you seven strong (heavens).

14. وَجَعَلنَا سِرَاجَن وَهَّاجَا(١٣) And made the sun blazing.

15. وَانزَلنَامِنَل مُعصِرَات مَا ا انثَجَّاجَا(١٤) And sent down pouring water from the rain clouds.

16. لِنُخرِجَ بِهِ حَبَّن وَنَبَاتَ(١٥) That We may bring forth grain and vegetation.

17. وَجَنَّاتِن اَلفَافَا(١٦) And lush gardens.

18. إنَّ يَومَ الفَصلِكَانَ مِيقَاتَا (١٧) Indeed the Day of Separation is an appointed time

19. يَومَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِفَتَأتُونَ اَفوَاجَا(١٨) The Day which the horn will be blown and you all will come forth like drones.

20. وَفُتِحَتِ ا لسَمَاآءُ فَكَانَت ابوَابَا(١٩) And the sky will open like doors

21. وَسُيِّرَتِ الجِبَالُ فَكَانَت سَرَابَا(٢٠) And the mountains will float away, and you will think of it as a mirage

22. إنَّجَهَنَّمَ كَانَت مِرصَادَا(٢١) Indeed the Hellfire has been waiting in ambush

23. لِطَّاغِينَمَءَابَا(٢٢) In wait for the rebellious

24. لَابِثِينَ فِيهَآ احقَابَا(٢٣) They will remain there forever.

25. لَايَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَردَنوَلَاشَرَابَا(٢٤) They will not taste in it any coolness or drink.

26. إِلَّا حَمِيمَن وَغَسَّاقَا(٢٥) Except for boiling water and pus.

27. جَزَآ اَنوِّ فَاقَا(٢٦) This is appropriate payback.

28. إنَّهُم كَانُو لَايَرجُونَ حِسَابَا(٢٧) Indeed, they were not expecting this.

29. وَكَذَّبُوبِ اَيَاتِنَا كِذَّابَا(٢٨) And they lied against our verses and signs.

30. وَكُلَّ شَي إِن احصَينَاهُ كِتَابَا(٢٩) Everything has been counted and written down.

31. فَذُوقُو فَلَنَّزِيدَكُم إِلَّاعَذَابَا(٣٠) So taste the punishment, and we will not increase you in anything but that [punishment].

32. إِنَّلِل مُتَّقِينَ مَفَازَا(٣١) Indeed for the righteous there is attainment.

33. حَدَآ إِقَوَ اَعنَابَا(٣٢) Gardens and grapevines.

34. وَكَوَاعِبَ اَترَابَ(٣٣) And young companions of equal age

35. وَكَأسَن دِهَاقَا(٣٤) And goblets with exotic drinks

36. لَا يَسمَعُونَ فِيهَالَغ وَن وَلَا كِذَّابَا(٣٥) And they will be purified from any ill speech or falsehood.

37. جَزَا امِّرَّبِّكَ عَطَآ انحِسَابَا(٣٦) You Lord will give you rewards until you have to say, “7isaabaa!”

38. رَبِّسَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَرضِ وَمَابَينَهُمَا اَرَّحمَان؛لَايَملِكُونَ مِنهُ خِطَابَا(٣٧) [From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.

39. يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ صَفًّ۬ا‌ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابً۬ا (٣٨) The Day that Jibril and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.

40. (٣٩)ذَٲلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ‌ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا That day is the truth; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return

41. إنَّ انذَرنَاكُم عَذَا بَنقَرِيبَا؛ يَومَ يَنظُرُ اَلمَرؤُمَاقَدَّمَت يَدَاهُوَ يَقُولُل كَىفِرُيَالَيتَنِي كُنتُتُرَابَا(٤٠) Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
