IntendedLearning Outcomes • To interpret outcomes of InCAS assessments to inform learning and teaching. • To consider how outcomes of assessments may be shared with parents (not a requirement for the transition year of 07/08). • To refer to some reading strategies in the InCAS remediation booklet.

Workshop 1 • Use the Standard Feedback table for the Reading modules. • Choose one pupil(with the exception of Jake J and Alex B) who is performing below his/her chronological age and complete the grid provided. • Write a short commentary identifying weaknesses and area/s requiring additional support.

Workshop 2 • In pairs, choose either pupil A (Jake J) or pupil B (Alex B) from your booklet. • Use all feedback (Standard and Custom) available. • Write a short overview for your chosen pupil. Think about which formats would: • Provide you with the most useful/meaningful information • Be easier to understand • You feel most comfortable with when explaining outcomes to parents • Provide parents with the most useful/meaningful information

Box Whisker The middle line in the box and whisker plot is the middle line for this class and the scores for half of this class lie within the box. Two pupils who are ‘well below’ their chronological age. The red line denotes the lower limit of possible scores.
