  4. Human & Physical Features Egypt, which is located in the Sahara Desert, is a less developed country than the United States. The population in the U.S. is over four times larger than the population in Egypt; 300 million compared to 73 million people. The average life expectancy in Egypt is lower than in the United States. Although both countries have a life expectancy over 70 years of age, Egypt is 71 years and the U.S. is 78. Egypt has less doctors per every 100,000 people than the U.S., which may be a factor contributing to the higher infant mortality rate in Egypt.The U.S. has almost six times as many doctors than Egypt does; 256 doctors in the U.S. versus 54 doctors in Egypt for every 100,000 people. Additionally, the literacy rate in the U.S. is a lot higher than the literacy rate in Egypt. Specifically, the literacy rate is 15% higher in the U.S. at 86% compared to only 71% in Egypt. In conclusion, in terms of human and physical features, Egypt is a less developed country than the U.S.

  5. The Egyptian Flag What’s red, white, and black, has 3 stripes and an eagle of Saladin? That’s right, the National flag of Egypt. The red stripe refers to the period before the 1952 revolution. The white stripe symbolizes the revolution which ended the monarchy without bloodshed. The last stripe on the flag is the black stripe. It stands the end of oppression of the Egyptian people at the hands of the monarchy and British colonialism. Additionally, the center of the displays a golden eagle, known as the eagle of Saladin.This version of the flag was adopted October 4th, 1984. Finally, if you abuse the Egyptian flag as a resident it is considered to be a criminal offense. In conclusion, this flag symbolizes the history of Egypt and should be handled respectfully.

  6. Government 1. The capital of Egypt is Cairo which is 7 hours ahead of D.C. standard time. 2. Egypt is a republic country and has a republic government that is controlled by the voters. 3. The national symbol of Egypt is the golden eagle of Saladin. 4. The constitution was last modified on January 15th, 2014. 5. The national anthem is called “My Homeland, My Homeland, My Homeland” At the left, is a picture of Egypt’s current president, Mohamed Morsi. At the right is a picture of Egypt’s capital, Cairo.

  7. Religion Over 90% of Egyptians are Muslim. They follow the religion of Islam. Particularly Sunni. Islam is the faith of Muslims. founded in 622 A.D. in Saudi Arabia by Muhammad. There are 1.3 billion Muslims worldwide. 940 million of which are Sunni. Muslims believe in one God, thus making them monothematic. This country also carries the religion of Christianity at 1% and Coptic 9%. In conclusion, most of Egyptians are Muslims, following the religious laws of Islam.

  8. In 332 B.C. Alexander the Great conquered Egypt. The last use of hieroglyphic writing was in 300 A.D. Fatimid rulers seized Egypt in 969 A.D. and founded the Egyptian city Al-Qahirah, which is now modern day Cairo. Egyptian Timeline In 7000 B.C. Early settlers camped out and started to herd. In 2600 B.C. the pyramids of Giza were built for some Pharaohs when they die.

  9. Animals, Plants, & Natural Resources The natural resources of Egypt, such as oil and gas, are very important to several countries, specifically the U.S.. Almost 7% of Egypt’s exported goods are to the U.S., which make us dependent on Egypt’s continued success. There are many significant animals found in Egypt such as the bee, the crocodile and the sheep. For example, let’s look at the importance of the bee first. The bee is used for it’s wax and honey for certain types of medications. The honey is also used as a sweetener and an offering to the gods. Another animal found in Egypt is much larger than the bee, that is the crocodile. This ferocious predator is found mostly by the Nile River, near upon land. The crocodile is known for the most killings in Egypt. On the other hand, there is the sheep. The sheep is used for it’s wool, that gives warmth. Above all, if you have one black sheep for every 100 sheep in a flock, it’s considered good luck. In conclusion, Egypt provides a wide variety of natural resources, as well as animals.

  10. Glossary • Anthem: A song, as of praise, devotion, or patriotism. The Philippines national anthem is “Lupang Hinirang”. • Climate: Weather location. Condition of weather. The Philippines climate is tropical marine. • Currency: Money value. National money use. The Philippines national currency is Peso. • Independence: You have no ruler or leader. Independence day in the Philippines is on July 4th, 1946. • Islam: The religion of Muslims. Religion and culture of someones. The Philippines percentage of Islam is 5%. • Language: The words someone speaks. A saying somebody speaks. The Philippines has 11 different languages. • Religion: The culture or beliefs someone thinks. A belief someone thinks. The Philippines have 8 religions local. • Suffrage: The right to vote. To franchise. The Philippines had 18 years of age; universal. • Symbol: A logo for someones use. A logo. The Philippine symbol is a Philippine Eagle.
