Transportation Policies, Regulations and Legislation • Advocating for increased funding for developing a public transportation infrastructure • Providing assistance and comments to the new Public Transportation Board • Advocating to SDS for changes to the waiver policy on transportation • Support public comment on proposed transportation regulations through outreach (web, social media, etc.)
Innovative Transportation Projects • Advocate for accessible travel options for individuals with disabilities (hotel courtesy vehicles, taxis, etc.) • Public comment on access to taxis in Anchorage • Assist the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) with developing an option for travelers with disabilities to practice screening in advance of travel days • Disability Awareness Training for TSA • Work with Congressional delegation to improve or develop new regulations
Capacity Building for Transportation • Collaboration / coordination with and support of the Alaska Mobility Coalition • Provide Disability Awareness training to TSA, taxi companies and public transportation providers
