EDDIE GIEN By. Wes Gallagher
Quick Intro to Ed. • He was OBSESSED with his Mama • Never had friends outside his family • Lived on a secluded farm in Wisconsin • Weirdly intrigued by the female body • Would take the skin of female body’s and wear it around the house. Among other horrific weird things
Serial Killer? • Serial Killer- Someone who has killed( in a pattern or unique way) more than one person in which they had no emotional connection. • YES- Ed Gein is a serial killer • He was only found guilty of killing 2 women • Both women were in their 50’s ( near the age of his mom when she died) • Killed both by shooting them with a 22. Cal. Rifle
Criminal Profiling • If criminal profile was available, it would have shown how likely Ed. Gein was to be a serial killer. • No friends • Family died • Secluded on a farm • Made fun of as kid in school • No job
Hobbies • His number one hobby was his mother • Reading was Eddie second favorite thing • He read adventure stories as a young boy • As he grew he started reading death cult magazines and books about Nazis, South Sea headhunters, shipwrecks, and anatomy. • He also made many late night grave yard visits
Hobbies • Reading the obituaries in the newspaper, looking for local women who have just died. • He would dig up the women and take their bodies in order to have their skin and body parts • With these body parts he would make/ do things such as . . .
Messed Up • “Preserved skins from ten human heads • A rolled up skin from a woman's torso • A belt made of excised nipples • A chair covered in human skin • Soup bowls made of the crowns from human skulls • Lampshades made of stretched human skin • A table with human leg bones as legs • A refrigerator filled with human organs • Bracelets made from human skin • A shoebox filled with female genitalia • The entire skin from a woman's torso, including the breasts”
Evidence • Not the smartest serial killer • The day Mrs.Worden went missing local residents had seen Edie in town which is a very unusual site. • Hearing that Eddie was in town the same day Mrs. Worden disappeared, he went and snooped around Eddie farm and found her beheaded hanging necked upside down from a meat hook with all of her organ removed. • She had been shot in the head with a 22. rifle
Connecting Evidence • Both Bernice Worden & Mary Hogan were murdered with a 22 rifle. • Small radius around from Ed.’s farm to the points of disappearance. • Both were of similar ages and sex • Females mid-late 50s • Near the age of his mother when she died.
SICK Bernice Worden’s body
Trial and Jail • He was proven guilty of killing both Bernice Worden & Mary Hogan • He did not deny or hide anything • Before his trail he was sent to mental constitution until found stable enough for trial. • After trial he spent the rest of his sentence/ life in different mental constitutions
