The Design Process • 1.) Define the Problem • 2.) Brainstorm • 3.) Research • 4.) Develop Ideas • 5.) Choose the Best Idea • 6.) Model or Prototype • 7.) Test and Evaluate • 8.) Improve Design • 9.) Communicate Results
Define the Problem • Speed • Best Design • Best Paint Job
Research • I found and researched about aerodynamics. • Mass: how large and heavy the car is. The less weight the car has, the faster it will go. • Thrust: the gas coming out of the cartridge in the car. • Friction: I can reduce friction and make my car go faster by making sure the axles are free to rotate. • Drag: It is not possible to completely overcome drag, but I can reduce it by building a more aerodynamic car.
Develop Ideas • Be creative! Draw out your designs! • Read! Put The Pieces • Together!
Choose Best Idea • Go Through all your sketches and choose the best one. • Choose the idea/ sketch of car that will best help you reach your goal.
