  2. Writing Invitation: • When someone talks about the 1920s, what do you envision? Explain. • Historical events? • Style/Fashion? • Art/Literature/Music? • People?

The Roaring 20s • After we read the whole article: • re-read your assigned section • try to pinpoint the main topic • summarize the section in just one sentence • Make sure this is written down! • Rereading and summarizing helps us understand what we are reading and get to the essential essence of each section. People who are able to summarize something are often those who understand the material best!

Instructions • Create a 5 slide presentation that includes: • a title slide • at least two pictures or visuals • an explantion of your topic (act as if you were talking to someone who had absolutely NO knowledge of the subject) • a resources list / works cited (use your newly learned citation skills!) • You will present this next class!

  6. Exit Slip: • How do you think this time period will affect the story? What can you guess about the novel simply from the time period it was written and set in?
