  4. Core strategy 2012 -2028 • Monkton Heathfield 4,500 homes • Comeytrowe/Trull 1,000 – 2,000 homes • Staplegrove 500 – 1,500 homes

STAPLEGROVE (WEST) • Up to 713 dwellings, 1ha of employment land together with green infrastructure, landscaping, play areas and sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) STAPLEGROVE (EAST) • Up to 915 residential units, a primary school, 1 ha of employment land, local centre, open space including allotments and sports pitches, green infrastructure, landscaping, woodland planting and sustainable drainage systems.

Objections A development of this size (than 1,600 homes) would – • Mean the loss of productive agricultural land • Ruin approach to Quantock Hills ANOB/tourist area • Create chaos on roads across North Taunton • Result in higher air pollution, delays and higher costs to businesses • Put intolerable strain on services – education/health/water/sewerage Economic climate has changed since the Core Strategy was drawn up - and needs revision before allowing more building
