What are steroids?  Fat soluble molecule which contains a system of 4 rings made up of 17 carbon atoms  E.g. cholesterol, estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, cortisol, etc.  Anabolic steroid (DEA) – Any hormonal substance, chemically and pharmacologically, related to testosterone that promotes muscle growth 2
