Event Professional Industry Class Awards • The EPIC Awards are a joint venture between NACE, ISES and ABC • When you win an award you truly will be able to say that you are the BEST in the industry
Important Dates • The Event that is being entered for an award must have taken place between July 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012 • Entries are due by February 1, 2013. No late entries are accepted.
Basic Rules of Entry • NACE, ISES and ABC Members can submit one entry per category at no charge. Each additional entry per category is $50 • Each Event may be submitted for a maximum of 3 categories • All entries must be Anonymous – no logos or company names may appear, no references to person or company executing event
Submission Requirements • Entries are submitted in an 8.5”x11” unadorned, black, 3-ring binder • Entry application is filled out completely and inside of the front cover • All entries must include one photo that summarizes your entry in digital form of 300 dpi or greater via CD • There is a limit of 15 pieces of collateral – each photo is considered one piece
Event Planning Available Awards • Best Wedding – Budget over $20k • Best Wedding – Budget under $20k • Best (Non-Wedding) Social Event - Budget over $20k • Best (Non-Wedding) Social Event - Budget under $20k Examples of Who Should Enter: • Event planners - producers & coordinators, meeting planners, wedding consultants & party planners • Facility & venue managers • Institutions (educational, cultural & non-profit) • Circuses and carnivals, sporting events, & concerts • Convention & exposition service managers • Destination management services, incentive travel companies
Event Design Available Awards • Best Themed Event • Best Tabletop Design Examples of Who Should Enter: • Event designers • Floral designers • Prop, scenery & display designers • Balloon artists • Artists in other media • Linen companies • Caterers & bakeries
Event Cuisine Available Awards • Best Catered Event • Best Cake • Best Confectioner • Best Menu on a Shoestring (Under 25++ per person) Who should Enter: • Caterers, either off-premise or in-house • Specialty bakeries and/or confectioners • Restaurants, facility operators, hotels, clubs, and any other entities that provide food to the special events industry
Entertainment Available Awards • Best Entertainment Production Over $5k • Best Entertainment Production Under $5k Examples of Who Should Enter: • Producers • Choreographers • Designers of entertainment • Entertainers • Disc jockey services
Event Enhancements Available Awards • Best Event Enhancement – Photography or Videography Who Should Enter: • Photographers • Videographers
Technical Production Available Awards • Best Technical Production Who Should Enter: • Companies providing staffing, rental equipment, tenting, lasers, lighting, special effects, pyrotechnics, audio-visual, transportation, valet services • Graphic designers, producers and designers of event collateral including advertising & promotional pieces, invitations, announcements, signage & novelties • Any others providing technical, logistical, or design services for the special events industry
Team Event Available Awards • Best Team Event Who Should Enter: • Any group of companies or individuals who formed a core event team. The team must include a combination of at least three (3) members of any of the following organizations: ISES, NACE, ABC or MPI. Note that only 1 submission binder is required for each “Team” event, however that binder must include an entry form from each team member
NACE Michael Havens Award • NACE members will nominate this person tonight! • This person should be a leader, a mentor and show a dedication to NACE that goes above and beyond that of other members Nominee Requirements: • Member is in good standing for at least 3 consecutive years and previous Michael Havens Award Winners are not eligible. Previous winners: Mark Ephraim, Ryan Koral, Robin Bosma, Todd Lloyd, Liz Bakunovich, Joan Kacir, Debbie Heuchert, Stephen Stawicki, Bill Hamilton, & Elizabeth Leiderman.
Caterer of the Year • You may nominate this person tonight! • Each person nominated will have to fill out an application in order to be considered for the award Nominee requirements: • NACE, ISES, ABC or MPI members only; caterers, either off-premise or in-house, including specialty bakeries, restaurants, facility operators, hotels, clubs, and any other entities that provide food to the special events industry.
Event Professionalof the Year • You may nominate this person tonight! • Each person nominated will have to fill out an application in order to be considered for the award Nominee requirements: • NACE, ISES, ABC or MPI members only; non-caterers and non-food-related vendors, supporting in the events industry.
