  1. The Road and Riddley Walker The Comparative analysis Presentation

  2. Introduction: • The road and riddley Walker are two books written more than 20 years apart, but both have very similar things in common. • Both stories focus on a father and son. • Both fathers in their respective stories die.

  3. The theme • The major theme in both stories is survival.

  4. The reasoning • In my readings I believe that survival is the main theme do to the fact that both fathers died In there stories and left their young sons to be men early in life. • Also, both sceneries were completely destroyed in the road I believe the top of the united states was destroyed by a bomb it wasn’t specified and in riddley walker the location was destroyed by an atom bomb a couple thousand years earlier.

  5. Cont’d • Both stories also had bad terrains because of the devastation • The road had cannibalism, and ash and soot everywhere. • Riddley walker had wild man hunting dogs, and harsh terrain • Both boys were trying to move forward

  6. Conclusion • Although both stories were written in different times they have a lot of similarities and those were just a few. The ultimate story of survival and love both sons were left to carry on a tradition that their fathers left for them. Although things were rough they both accepted the challenge and became hero’s in their own right.
