Consistent Comparison Information • It would help voters to easily see how proposals compare • Based on Criteria document (03/031r9) • Range, Implementation complexity, Multiple Piconet Support, Regulatory Approval, Etc. • Propose a subcommittee to prepare a comparison matrix for presentation at the beginning of the July meeting. • Process is to use conference calls or set up an ad hoc for presenters to contribute to the summary matrix. Regulatory Approval • All proposals adhere to the current FCC rules regarding operation of UWB systems between 3.1 and 10.6 GHz. • Most proposals also have provisions for modifying their spectrum usage to account for worldwide regulatory rules still being developed in Europe and Asia. Use of the 802.15.3 MAC • All proposals assume that the 802.15.3 MAC will be used. • Some proposals required no changes • Some proposals require specific PHY support modifications • Additional MAC changes not required to support a particular PHY should be addressed as a separate 802.15.3 addendum.
