How we connected to this issue Next year the 5 of us will have to pick subjects and if our app is made, it will be so much easier for us. There are people picking subjects right now in the year above us, and many of them are struggling. This issue is very close to us and we feel passionate about solving the stress around picking which subjects to take.
What data do we Need The user needs to input: Their dream job Their favourite subjects A place they would like to live The app needs to know: Jobs Courses Apprenticeships Subjects Universities in the UK Cities, towns and villages in the UK Qualifications
Where does the data come from? The app needs a lot of information about qualifications, courses and careers. This is all possible to find. UCAS has lists of jobs, qualifications and courses. The Government has an A-Z list of
Job information Eg: Multiple paths will be shown, and you can flick through them with ease until you find one you like. Then, you click on it and it will give you information about where would be best to study it, what the job entails and where would be best to live when doing the job e.g. Best colleges/universities: university college London for education What the job entails: Teaching young children how to read... Where to live: A big city e.g London; for pay, Smaller cities e.g Birmingham; For Lifestyle
Feedback we’ve been given The app should be free because it is mainly aimed at teenagers and young adults It should tell you about additional qualifications on the side of your path It should notify you about apprenticeships and graduate schemes
