English as a Second Language Writing Workshop "ESL-WOW"
Goals: • to help students write effectively according to the conventions of North American universities • to provide students with the skills necessary to be successful writers
Four modules: • “Getting Ready to Write” • “Developing Your Ideas” • “Revising Your Work” • “Editing and Polishing”
“Avoiding Plagiarism” to help ELLs understand • what plagiarism is in the context of higher education in the US • what the consequences might be • how to avoid it

Pilot Project in 2012: • 30 students from Mesa College (blended) • 30 students from Excelsior College (online)
2012: “Human Guides” Three tutors will serve as human guides for the pilot project.
