Family and Prayer You can't learn how to sail from a book... likewise, you can’t learn to pray from a book. We yearn for prayer and also hide from it. We are attracted to it and we are repelled by it. We believe that prayer is something that we should do and even want to do, but it seems like there is a chasm between us, desiring to pray and actually praying
