The Purpose of this Project To build Galley Packing, a web-enabled food provisioning tool for airlines.
Galley Packing System Functions • Drawing Tool – Allows administrator to set up aircraft storage locations. • Packing Tool – Allows analyst to fill storage locations with food service items. • Viewing Tool – Allows caterer to view complete food provisioning diagrams. • General Tools – Other system functions, including security.
System Requirements for Drawing • Selecting individual galleys in the aircraft. • Designing individual galley locations. • Design individual storage devices. • View layout of galley and storage device. • Save current galley configuration.
System Requirements for Packing • Drilling down to individual storage device. • Select service item and enter quantity. • Check space/weight capacity. • Modify item quantity and orientation. • Save current device configuration.
Use Cases Draw Galley Plans Administrator Pack ServiceItems Analyst View Provisioning Plans Caterer

Questions • Should changes in the space and weight constraints be dynamically displayed? • Should the packing tool be able to handle item orientation for each individual item? • How are the dimensions of the service items represented in the database? Rectangles, more complex?
