Prerequisites(Page 5 of Application) • CHM130+CHM130LL or One year high school Chemistry (0-4 credits). • BIO156/BIO181, CLEP, or One year high school biology within 5yrs (0-4 credits). • BIO201 – Anatomy & Physiology I • PSY101 – Introduction to Psychology • MAT120 – Intermediate Algebra or higher

  3. Co-Requisites(Required for Block 3)(Page 5) • BIO202 – Anatomy & Physiology II (prereq. BIO201). • BIO205 – Microbiology (BIO156/BIO181, CLEP, or One year high school biology within 5yrs)

  4. Co-Requisites (Required for AAS – Nursing)(Page 5) • ENG101 – First Year Composition • ENG102 – First Year Composition • CRE101 – Critical and Evaluative Reading or Test exempt. • HUM – Humanities Elective

  5. NET(Nurse Entrance Test)(Page 4) • Students may take the NET test up to 24 months prior to turning in their application. • Students may retest after remediation (study) to improve score after 60 days up to a maximum of 3 times per 12-month period.

  6. Application Process(Page 6) • Once students have completed prerequisites for RN program students will then be entered into the District database by program admissions. • On the last date of the designated time frame (example January 31st) , applications will randomly be date and time stamped. • Students will be notified by (Program Admissions & District) e-mail and/or letter indicating acceptance of student application.

  7. Notes • Important – Please let students know that once they are in the District database they need to update all personal information (email, address, etc.) if it changes. • Once students are in the database they can select 5 options for nursing programs district wide. (district placement website) https://web1.dist.maricopa.edu/CFIDE/docs/hcies/studentStatus/index.cfm • Estimated wait time for Rio’s RN program is 1 1/2 – 2yrs. Wait time will be shorter (1yr – 1 1/2yrs) for those students who select several options for RN programs. • Clinical Rotations are usually daytime, but can vary any day and time; rotations are generally 2 (occasionally 3 days) in a row and every week.  The schedule can change based on the availability of the location of the clinical in the hospital. Students will be notified 6 – 8 weeks in advance about their clinical schedule. • Detailed ESF notes. • Application periods with start and end dates effected by weekends and holidays will move to the following business day.
