  4. $$$$$$$ • Advertising and Sponsorships help provide money for Grantland such as Subway and Klondike • Grantland is profitable by selling ads at events like the NBA Draft or the Super Bowl

Strategies • The initial business plan: • Provide fans with a broader sense of understanding sports. • Wants to appeal to as many people as they can. • Company initially offered: • sports and pop culture blogs dealing with Gambling advice, playbooks, TV, music, movies. • Grantland aimed at Sports and entertainment market with large audience.

  6. Strategies • Short term goal: • Become visible with the long term goal by increasing his relationship with sponsors. • Future: • Breaking away from ESPN. • Simmons wants to become the face of blogging.

  7. Bottom Line • Bill Simmons was first in creating an audio version of blooming made him stand apart. • Simmons wants to be his own boss. • Grantland is more promising than ever with a tech savoy generation.
