  7. September 2008 • In the month of September, I would like to get a report on my grades. • I will also like to get help in my weakest class if needed.

  8. October 2008 • In the month of October, My goal is to put in a lot of college applications that has a location of at least 45 minutes to an hour away from home. • I would also like to study more for the ACT test.

  9. November 2008 • When November brings the feast… I would like to set up an appointment for the ACT. • I would also like to study for the End of Course Test (EOC’s).

  10. December 2008 • In the last month of 2008, I would then take my ACT which is on the 13th. • In this month my goal is to complete my second semester with a GPA of at least 3.5. • I would also like to get a car this month too.

  12. January- February 2009 • In the month of January, My mission to complete is to boost my GPA up. • My goal in February is to get accepted to SMC college.

  13. March- April 2009 • In the month of March my goal is to decide which topic I would like to discuss on my senior project. • In the month of April is when David or Virginia Britten is born.

  14. May- June 2009 • In the month of May, my goal is to graduate LHS with a 3.5 or above GPA. • I would also like to have a full time job for the summer until college begins.

  15. July – August 2009 • In the month of July, my goal is to find a day care for my child. • When August begins I look forward into enrolling in college at SMC. • I also need to have a part time job during college. • I would like to major in elementary education and minor in psychology.

  16. September – October 2009 • In the month of September, I would like to look for tutoring in my weakest subject-if needed. • In the month of October, my goal is to decide which school I would like to teach at.

  17. November- December 2009 • By the end of November I would be satisfied with a GPA of 3.5 or above. I would also expect to have gained knowledge in the questions I ask myself daily about my career. • In the month of December I would like to have my own home.

  19. January – March 2010 • In the months of January to March I will be starting on my second semester of college. My goal is to keep up good grades. • My goal is to also maintain a part time job during college.

  20. April – June 2010 • In the months of April to June, 2010, my goals is to focus on college and to get a full time job during the summer until college starts.

  21. July – September 2010 • In the months of July to September my goals is to start my second year of college at SMC. • I also need to get a part time job while attending college.

  22. October – December 2010 • In the months of October to December I hope to still be working a part time job and attending college. • I also need to look forward to having tutoring in my weakest class if I need it.

  24. January – April 2011 • In the months of January to April my goals is to continue my last year at SMC. • I also need to maintain a part time job until the summer and focus on college.

  25. May- August 2011 • In the months of May to August, 2011, my goals is to transfer to Winthrop University and graduate there in two years. • I also plan to assist teachers at elementary school to have more of an idea what my career will be like.

  26. September – December 2011 • In the months of September to December, my goals is to complete my first semester at Winthrop university. • I would also like to have decided which school I will be teaching at.

Action (Complete a Career Direction Inventory) • Now what do you want to be based on the careers presented? • Where do I want to go in life with the careers presented? • Do you need college to get where I want to go?

  31. Step 3. Begin identifying options • What are my career options? List them. • Are there reasons why these options may not be good ones? (use points to weight your interest in each career option)

  32. Step 4: Gather Information and Data • Examine the info you already have • Identify what additional information you need • Seek out and utilize new information

  33. Step 5: Evaluate options that could be a solution • ID al the pros and cons of each alternative • ID the personal values and needs that are satisfied by each alternative • ID the risk involved with each alternative • Project the probable future consequences of selecting each alternative
