  3. Purpose of Presentation • Understand interdependency and change of systems • Learn how to change systems more effectively

  4. Outcomes • Participants will gain an understanding of a systems thinking model. • Participants will have an opportunity to explore tips, tools, and strategies involving change.

  5. Procedure • Lecture Burst • Small Group Work • Whole Group Discussion • Video Clips • Carousel

  6. Carousel Exercise • Assign a group recorder • TASK: Identify essential elements of each discipline that leaders must consider when initiating change • Approximately 4 minutes per discipline

  7. Shared Vision Questions to consider: • How does this video clip fit with the identified elements of shared vision in the carousel activity? • What has to happen to attain a shared vision? • What role does a leader play in this process?

  8. Team Learning Questions to consider: • What steps did the team use to achieve their goal? • What components have to be in place for team learning to occur? • What role does a leader play in this process?

  9. Implementation of the Core Disciplines Question to Consider: • In what ways does the discipline contribute to the success of the organization?

  10. Implementation of the Core Disciplines • New Values and Assumptions • New Action Rules • New Capacities
