Know about Subject Placement for Product Photography Know about Subject Placement for Product Photography Being a product photographer in Sydney for the last years, I have totally understood how difficult yet exciting it can be to make a move in this field. Since my childhood, I had always found photography very lively which kept on providing me oxygen throughout. And you will be surprised to know that my journey did not begin with a DSLR camera; it was my little handy calling device which inspired me to take a step ahead towards photography. Back at that time, I did not have much knowledge about the placement of subjects, lighting, editing and many other such aspects of photography. But my practical work has helped me a lot in understanding them. And I think this learning is much like a never-ending one because you will keep on knowing something new and different every day. Well, you will definitely learn a lot of unknowns while being on the field but before that, why not give your ideas related to the subjects a boost which might help you in the near future. That’s why I have prepared this blog to bring some important considerations related to product photography subjects into your concern. So, let’sdig in… Assist your Subject with Others if needed Assist your Subject with Others if needed You can even create a story with the product you are dealing with. If you can show the use of that particular product in people’s life, it can instantly turn a photograph from dull to
attention-grabber. I can give you a live example of such incident. Few months back a mobile company hired me as a product product photographer photographer Sydney Sydney. My work was to click the photos of their manufactured mobiles which they will advertise in the market. I had my own freedom to make the photographs as much appealing as I could and that was well-used. I did not click simple photographs of the mobiles; rather I hired some models and captured their use in the camera. In this same way, suppose you want to showcase the product as water-resistant in the market. You can place your subject at a place where water bodies are around and bring your message out to the would-be users very easily. Frame It Frame It and Play with Lights and Play with Lights… … Proper framing of a subject is very important. There are many who think that placing the subject at the middle of the camera frame is the best choice. But that’s definitely not the perfect choice every time. People like to see and experience out-of-the-box things and you can fully utilize that in product photography. Place the subject to either extreme left or extreme right of the frame and also make sure that the lighting is good enough to make your product visible and give a different feel. This can be best done with the product placed on either side of the frame and light rays of sun coming from the other end.
P.S. Do not put your subject out of the frame otherwise that will break your effects. These are the main factors which you must take care of while placing your subject in front of the camera. Being a product photographer in Sydney, I am studying a hell lot of things regarding photography which is helping me to grow. I will suggest you to follow this as well because it will help you utterly to move forward. I will soon come back with more blogs on usage of lens, lighting, and several other related factors of photography. All you need to do is just keep following this space for the upcoming freshly brewed contents. Cheers!!
