  2. Motivation • Household energy consumption • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning • Different needs for different climates • Humidity almost never considered

  3. Project History • iTemp – First design • Did NOT work • Efficient HVAC System – Second design • Worked much better • Expensive, and excessive components • Stopped working later

  4. Objectives • Improve upon previous projects • Make the project suitable for mass production

  5. Specifications • Reduce costs

  6. The Database • Will connect the control system hardware to the website in the Internet. • Ensures the data on both systems are accurate and consistent. • Updates any changes made on the data by either system. • Implemented on a hosting website given by the sponsor.

  7. Mobile Software Comparisons Android iOS SDK is $100 roughly Few other software programs are compatible with it Primary language is Objective-C • SDK is free • Many different software programs available that supports Android • Primary language is Java

  9. Software/Services Used • Hype – Used to design the site structure • Dreamweaver – PHP and SQL editing • Host Gator – hosting website provided by sponsor. Will host database for system. • phpMyAdmin – Creates and edits SQLn databases

  11. The Website • Allows a user to get access to their home HVAC system. • Will closely follow the format of the control system. • Will have all the same functionalities of the control system. • Will obtain all of the consumer’s data from their specific entry within the database.
