Ongoing Plani Editing Goals: • Update some Plani features at an increased frequency. • Update more extent of Plani (more than 50 square miles). • Use available sources of information to do “smart” updates.
Plani Results: • Some Plani will be “dynamic” (i.e. bldg, edge, obld, veg?) • New features will be less accurate. • New features may still need to be replaced with accurate inventories at a later date depending on needs.
Plani 3 Current Tests: • Capture bldg for pilot area in De Soto. • Capture bldg for part of a tile that Harden is delivering (J13) and compare. • Automate building permit point file and create “dummy” bldgs.
Plani Pilot Area: • 8 square miles. • Estimated 256 building permits from 1998 to 2002. • 342 changes. 311 buildings added, 31 updated. Approximately 79 deletes.

Plani It’s Not All Bad!
Plani Challenges: • Exporting back to tiled covs for legacy apps. • Added SectID field. • Problem with layerexport on large extent. • Exporting to DXF with attributes retained. • Rebuild AAT on conversion. • Export new/edited data to separate file.
Plani Practical Implications: • Will a mix of feature types be helpful? • Will AAT drop cause any problems? • Will this method of update be worthwhile? • Will mixing sources cause problems? • Could maintenance be distributed? • How do you place “dummy points”?
