Labeling • Labeling and traceability – total product • Standardized labeling guidelines • Code compliance requires labeling • Numbering system increases simplicity of gateway product testing compliance • Hallmark Label shows conformance to total program
Product Numbering Numbering for Gateway size products and other products that qualify to fall within that same base number • Each Product Type along with the Series/Model receives its own Product Line number and extension. See example below: Product TypeSeries/ModelFixed or Operable Double Hung Extruded Aluminum Operable Casement Wood Operable Fixed Window Vinyl Fixed *Product Types can not be mixed in the CCL listing* ###-H-1234.00 This is the Gateway unit base number ###-H-1234.01 This could be for a smaller than Gateway size unit ###-H-1234.02 This could be for an A440 S1-09 ###-H-1234.03 This could be for Impact units tested to ASTM E1996 ###-H-1234.04 This could be for Impact units tested to TAS ###-H-1234.05 This could be for a Mullion tested to AAMA 450 C.S. 3 Definition of a Product Line: Like products of the same operator with possibly different reports and DP rating but common drawings or substantially common drawings (meaning the main structural members are identical). If product is retested due to 4-year expiration with no changes to the product, the product line number may stay the same.
Florida Building Code • Evaluation (PE) –vs- Certification Method • 3 paths to Florida Approval • Certification • Evaluation • Test Report • Most efficient can be certification method utilizing Hallmark Certification • Quality Assurance System • Extended term of certification will be beneficial
Florida Building Code • Certification Path – Method 1 Option A – No QA certificate needed • Based on the CCL: configurations and options it allows, and its expiration date • When the CCL expires, the FLPA expires; may or may not coincide with the 3-year Florida Building Code (FBC) cycle • The manufacturer may make their own installation instructions provided that they are strictly “as-tested” so they are limited to tested substrates (wood/conc./metal) and anchors • This path also allows for installation instructions with other substrates, provided that they are signed by a third-party • Certification uploads Validated by third-party. If installation instructions were approved by a third party then validation is Administrative, if not then validation is Technical requiring same calculations and review as an Evaluation Report
Florida Building Code • Fees associated with each path • Method 1 Option A - Certification Mark or Listing • Fee is $200.00 per each Florida Product Approval Number (FL#) administrative review validation • Method 1 Option D - Evaluation Report and Quality Assurance Certificate • Fee is $1000.00 annual per plant we inspect, with any amount of active Quality Assurance Certificates • Method 2 Option B - Evaluation Report and Quality Assurance Certificate • Fee is $1000.00 annual per plant we inspect, with any amount of active Quality Assurance Certificates
Texas Department of Insurance • 10 year certification period • Ties to extended term of certification
Term of Certification • 2015 Fee Schedule Changes • PRODUCT/LISTING REVIEW (per individual certified rating (i.e. standard, size, rating) • Initial (10 year) Standard Unit Certified Rating per review (Test Standard) $ 100 • Certification Extension Requests (10 month Max) – per request$ 250 • Annual Cost to maintain each CCL base and extension number$ 35 • (Billed $17.50 per CCL listing in April and October) 6 months apart • ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This will stay in effect until 12/31/2015 • Certification Extension Requests (4 year) per review & listing(1st product) $ 400 • Cost per each additional CCL extension$ 100 • Annual review for the last 4 years of term per review & listing (1st product) $ 100 • Cost per each additional CCL extension $ 15 • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
