  1. Expanded Clay Aggregate : Important Things To Know

  2. Characteristics: ECA is usually produced in different sizes and densities • 0.1 millimetres (0.004 in) up to 25 millimetres (1.0 in), • commonly 0-4 mm, 4-10 mm, 10-25 mm • densities of 250, 280, 330, and 510 kg/m3. • LECA boulder is the biggest size of LECA with 100–500 mm size and 500 kg/m3 density.

  3. Use of ECA • Normal uses are in solid squares, solid chunks, geotechnical fillings, lightweight solid, water treatment, hydroponics, aquaponics and hydroculture. • ECA used in structural backfill against foundations, retaining walls, bridge abutments etc. • It can reduce earth pressure by 75% compared with conventional materials, and also increases ground stability while reducing settlement and land deformation. • ECA is also used in water treatment facilities for the filtration and purification of municipal wastewater and drinking water as well as in other filtering processes

  4. Benefits: • 100% Inert (Reusable Multiple Times) • Light in Weight (Reduction of 40-50% of Load) • High Compressive Strength (0.6 to 3.0 N/mm2) • Micro Porous Structure(Honeycombed Structure of Interconnecting voids) • Non Toxic & Eco Friendly(Gree Material 100% Eco Friendly and sustaineble) • Good Water Absorption(18 to 23% of size) • Good Water Drainage(Excellent Drainage Material) • Earthquake Resistant(As ECA is light weight, it helps reduces the destructive effects of earthquake on structure

  5. Aggregate Density

  6. Types of Aggreagates There are mainly Two types of Aggregates which are mentioned here: • Leca Aggregates • Expanded Clay Balls

  7. Leca Aggregates Expanded clay is a high quality, durable lightweight aggregate. The principle normal for extended earth is low thickness joined with high quality. Likewise, the total holds numerous other critical attributes, and it very well may be portrayed as an "all-in-one" item, giving a colossal scope of properties fundamental for practical development.

  8. Expanded Clay Balls clay balls provide a growing medium that is ideal for a wide variety of plants, and they are reusable as well. While clay pebbles do not offer their own nutrients to plants, they do provide a medium in which nutrients and water can easily be added for healthy growing cycles.Clay pebbles are also known as expanded clay pebbles or hydroton.

  9. I hope This Information helped you in some way. As It was just an overview regarding Expanded Clay Aggregate. there are still so much information to know. for that you may prefer: https://www.expandedclayaggregate.com
