The eligibility criteria under the bill include thefollowing: November 2021(6) May 2018(1) January 2018(1) Indian Citizenship: The intending parents must be Indian citizens.Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and overseas citizens of India (OCIs) are alsoeligible. Marriage and Duration: The intending couple must be legally married and have been married for at least five years. Same-sex couples, single individuals, and live-in partners are not eligible forsurrogacy. Age Limits: The female intending parent must be between 23 and 50 years of age,and the male intending parent must be between 26 and 55 years ofage. Medical Fitness: Both intending parents must be medically certified as havinginfertility or proven medical conditions that prevent them from carrying achild. Surrogate Relationship: The surrogate mother must be a close relative ofthe intending couple. She should be married and have at least one healthy biological child of herown.
