Session Objective & Need Chalk out an RCE Evaluation Mechanism that is simple, useful and acceptable to all RCEs • To clearly understand & establish the value & importance of the evaluation exercise from different RCE perspectives • To devise various ways in which the exercise can be undertaken by RCEs • To streamline its execution and establish the requisite support & capacities

The Evaluation Exercise Approach The evaluation process strategized to facilitate internal reflections and bring together key stakeholders so as to take stock of RCE Goa’s activities, its challenges and constraints, and what can be done to overcome them. It thus, • generated contextual data for RCE Goa, • conducted an appreciative enquiry into RCE Goa activities/initiatives, and • used the insights of the analysis to strengthen RCE Goa activity-level

Outcomes • Perspective directions work and impact areas • Awareness for the general public through websites, social media/blogs, and an e-newsletter • Empowerment and engagement of youth by focusing on programmes through lecture/workshop, art & craft and the performing arts medium • Work with rural communities on the issue of waste, resources and traditional livelihoods • Policy-driven research involving key local issues requiring attention and intervention • Development and pooling in of resources towards Information, Education and Communication material • Development and contribution towards curriculum incorporating key regional sustainability issues • Impact indicators • Recognition of RCE projects and outcomes • Increasing number of committed partners • Increasing activity level • Engagement with key stakeholders in the identified thrust areas • Increasing media partners • Ability to leverage funds • Qualitative and quantitative impacts of RCE interventions

9. Learning and follow ups… Challenges of inactive partners and funding availability: • All partners should be willing to commit themselves so as to create a pool of dedicated and committed partners • Need to bring in a stronger sense of ownership and belonging amongst partners • Due to lack of funding, only on going activities can be showcased under the RCE Goa banner, this again limits all partners coming on board with equal commitment levels
