  5. The screaming jelly baby • Jelly baby and potassium chlorate • Use when teaching chemical reactions and oxidation.

  6. Foam monster • Hydrogen peroxide, soap and saturated potassium iodide • Use when teaching catalysts

  7. Cannon ball experiment • Hydrogen peroxide with ethanol on top. • Light the ethanol • Throw in potassium permanganate crystals. • Use to teach the fire triangle

  9. Splat • Have words or pictures on the main board or sheets around the room. • Ask a series of questions and students have to ‘splat’ the correct answer • Make it harder? Make the words move.

Blooms Challenge Triangle • In pairs you have to work your way through 7 question. • When you complete the first question write your name on a post it and put it at the bottom of the challenge triangle • As you complete each subsequent question move you post it up the triangle. • Answers must be checked by me before you proceed to the next one.

A: Conduction • What do we call a substance with a pH lower than 7? A: acid • What is the collective term for Movement, respiration, sensitivity, nutrition, excretion, reproduction and growth? A: Life processes
