The screaming jelly baby • Jelly baby and potassium chlorate • Use when teaching chemical reactions and oxidation.
Foam monster • Hydrogen peroxide, soap and saturated potassium iodide • Use when teaching catalysts
Cannon ball experiment • Hydrogen peroxide with ethanol on top. • Light the ethanol • Throw in potassium permanganate crystals. • Use to teach the fire triangle
Splat • Have words or pictures on the main board or sheets around the room. • Ask a series of questions and students have to ‘splat’ the correct answer • Make it harder? Make the words move.
