  1. Sample Action Plan Priority Area: Move More Priority Area: Eat Smart Goal: To provide opportunities to be physically active during the workday. Goal: To provide information about healthy food choices • Strategy (individual or group): • By November 2006, 10 informational posters encouraging employees to take 10-15 minute walking breaks at the worksite at least once/day will be posted in all buildings (posters will be rotated once/month). • Strategy (policy or environmental): • By March 2007, create and post in the lobby of each building a walking map of the nearby worksite area that includes at least 3 “utility stops” along the route (ex. Bank, grocery store, eating establishment) • Strategy (individual or group): • From November 2006 – March 2007, distribute fliers weekly to all employees with information on healthy food choices. • Strategy (policy or environmental): • By March 2007, label healthy food choices in all 10 vending machines. • Steps: • Ensure management approval for labeling program • Inventory current selections in vending machine using Healthy Snack List in toolkit • Develop a sticker/labeling system for healthy snacks • Work with vendor to ensure snacks are labeled • Assign committee member to work with vendor to label snacks or machines • Steps: • Ensure management approval for poster placement & printing funds • Determine posters from toolkit to use & create new posters • Decide on whether posters will be laminated, framed, etc. • Print, laminate, and/or frame posters • Assign committee member to post & rotate posters • Steps: • Ensure management approval & funding for project • Use measuring wheel & pedometer to determine routes around worksite • Identify 3 utility stops along the routes • Create map, using city planner’s office or other source, marking routes along the way • Print & post maps in all buildings (assign committee members to post maps) • Steps: • Ensure management approval for flier distribution • Determine fliers from toolkit to use • Determine method of communication by surveying employees • Assign committee members to distribute fliers weekly
