Eid-Al-Adha, also known as the sacrifice of feast, is celebrated worldwide by Muslim communities. According to traditions, men offer their prayers at the mosque. While it is not compulsory for women, they are also encouraged to join the prayers. http://vaikundarajans.blogspot.in
“The festival commemorates Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son to God,” explains Vaikundarajan. This festival also marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. http://vaikundarajans.wordpress.com
Eid-al-adha is observed for wishing well to one another. According to lunar based Islamic calendar, the festival lasts for 3 days. http://vaikundarajanblog.blogspot.in
“A day of fast during this period is equivalent to a full year of fasting,” says Vaikundarajan. This season of worship is said to bring many benefits such as the opportunity to correct one’s faults and make up for any shortcomings. Also referred to as Greater Eid, this is the second most important festival as per the Muslim calendar. http://vaikundarajans.blogspot.in
