Background Understanding of ICT Misuse • Emphasis on ICT development and utilization • Increasing interest and active promotion for ICT utilization in knowledge-based economy as a tool for development ( ICT4D) • Emergence of ICT / Internet misuse • Social problems’ occurring such as Internet Addiction, Cyber Crime, illegal contents issue caused by ICT misuse • Developed countries with such experiences began to realize the importance of preventive education on ICT misuse • “ICT4D + Preventive Education on ICT Misuse” for developing countries • It is the time for developing countries to begin the preventive education on ICT misuse with ICT4D efforts • For novice ICT users, simultaneous education on ICT basic skills and ICT misuse prevention will make high efficiency

Case Preventive Education on ICT Misuse ▶Project APEC Training Program for Preventive Education on ICT Misuse (2009 – Present) ▶Partners KT Cultural Foundation, APEC, APWINC, Korea Communication Commission, KT, Korea Internet & Security Agency ▶Achievements Pilot Trainings on Prevention of ICT Misuse for Trainers and end-users In 3 countries including Philippines (2009-10), Indonesia (2011), Malaysia (2012) 12 contents in 3 languages produced/ 58 trainers trained/ 324 end-users participated
