Overview of 911/E911 Services: Private Switch Automatic Location Identification(PS / ALI) PS/ALI is an additional capability of E911 emergency response systems that provides end-users using a private telephone switch, such as a Private Branch Exchange (PBX), or some Centrex/Centrons, with Selective Routing (SR) and/or ALI feature(s) of E911 for individual telephone stations. This additional capability allows the private switch to identify individual subscriber address and location information to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) operator.
