Study and Reflection of CCSSM Interpretation Guides This material was developed for use by participants in the Common Core Leadership in Mathematics (CCLM^2) project through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Use by school district personnel to support learning of its teachers and staff is permitted provided appropriate acknowledgement of its source. Use by others is prohibited except by prior written permission.

  2. Part 1. Standard(s) and Interpretation of Standard • (a)  List the Standard. • (b)  List the name of the Interpretation Guide as noted on the website. • (c)  After reading the Interpretation of the Standard, highlight and provide examples of 3 to 5 important ideas you learned from the interpretation of the standard.

  3. Part 2. Textbook Development and Conclusions Study your own textbook program. (a)  What important math ideas did you learn from the textbook development and conclusion sections that you kept in mind as you studied lessons in your own textbook? (b)  What observations can you make about how your textbook addresses this standard?

  4. Part 3. Suggestions As you study the suggestions, describe ideas you would like to ponder as you think about teaching this standard. Why are these ideas important to you?

  5. Homework Start working on your project. Due: Tuesday, January 15, 2013
