  4. Proxy War (surrogate clash) Even though the Soviet Union and the United States never fought therewere many related conflicts that resulted from the tension created by the Cold War. Thiswascalled a Proxy War Containment: The United State tried to prevent the spread of communist
  5. Proxy War: Korea Pt.1 Korea was divided into a communist north and a democratic south. North Korea invaded and almost conquered South Korea.
  6. Proxy War: Korea Part 2 The United States came to help S. Korea and pushed the N. Koreans back to the 38th parallel. In 2011, Korea is still divided and tension still exists between north and south.
  7. The Arms Race ( who will have the most bombs) 1945 the United States detonated the worlds first atomic bomb In 1947 the Soviet Union detonated their first atomic bomb. The United States and The Soviet Union competed to be the country with the most atomic bombs.
