What year did mammoth caves become a national park Mammoth caves became a national park in 1941 because of its Mammoth-Flint Ridge Cave System and because it is the longest cave system in the world.
How was the park formed? The confines of mammoth caves were resting in sea water and when the sea receded it created cracks. When rain water came through it eroded the caves.
What type of rocks can be found in the park? The caves are made out of… • Limestone • Sandstone
