COMANCHE • They were feirce warriors in the southern plains. • They lived in the southern plains that was in part of Nebraska and Texas. • They had a lot of money and land they dressed well. • They lived in tee-pees that were built with buffalo skin and wood. • They carried their things if they are going some were far on a travois.

  5. The Jumanoindians made there houses out of adobe bricks. They lived close to the tigues and they were friends. They lived in new Mexico and Texas. The next important group of Jumanos were the plains Jumano. They worked at the central crossroad territory. The JumanoIndians

  6. The Waco Indians lived in a large area near the Brazos river. The Waco Indians had around 60 permanent houses at that time. They would live in those houses in the spring and summer and work in the crops. Their village would travel and hunt buffalo. While hunting buffalo they will live in tee-pees. The Waco Indians

Coahuiltecans • The Coahuiltecans ate what ever they could find if they were starving. • They ate snakes , rats , fish , spiders , ant eggs , dirt , wood , deer excrement , worms , salamanders • They lived in wickicups that were made of buffalo skin and wood. • The Coahuiltecans isn’t a tribe. • They were a reigon.

  9. 1492: Christopher Columbus sailed across the pacific ocean 1528: Cabeza de vaca sailed to Florida and landed in Texas 1685: La Salle wanted to go to Texas and build a new colony. Time Line 1519:piñeda travelled the Texas coast and created the first Texas coast map. 1540:Coronado went to Mexico and thought there was 7 city’s. of gold and set off to find it, there wasn’t a city of gold (Awwww man)

  10. He meant to go to Asia to find some spices, but he accidently went to north America. He took three ships, their names were : Niña, Santa Maria, Piñta. He took four trips on his expedition. His fourth trip, he explored Mexico His last trip, he took 17 ships with 1,200 through 1,500 men. Christopher Columbus

  13. Cabeza de vaca # 3 • On his way to Mexico, he got Into a hurricane and landed in Texas. • 15 men had survived. • He went to Florida and it was a swampy place and that’s how most of his men died. • In the end, four of his men survived and looked for the rest of the men that ran away.

  14. He sailed the Texas coast to Mexico. He made the first Texas coast map. He was the first explorer to reach Texas. In 1519 Piñeda landed in Texas to find a place to live. He made at least 40 villages near the bank of a river. Piñeda Piñeda

La Salle • In 1685, La Salle came to Texas. • He owned land and called it Louisiana in honor of French King. • When he went back to France, he convinced the king to give him some ships to sail to Louisiana. • he claimed the land around the Mississippi river for France. • the King agreed to give la Salle the ships to take to Louisiana to start a colony.

  16. Coronado • He found out that there was a city of gold. • He took his army and set off to find the city of gold. • It turns out there wasn’t a city of gold (Awww man). • Everyone was mad at him.
