NACURH • www.nacurh.org • National Association of College and University Residence Halls • Conference is held usually in May • This year it will be in Syracuse, NY (May 25-29) • Visit www.nacurh2005.org for more information • The purpose of NACURH, Inc. is to design and facilitate programs and informational services to promote the educational goals of the residence hall students. • Regions of NACURH are: PACURH, IACURH, MACURH, SWACURH, GLACURH, CACCURH, NEACURH, and SAACURH
SAACURH • www.nacurh.org/saacurh • Mascot-Louie the Lion • South Atlantic Association of College and University Residence Halls • Consists of: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina • SAACURH Conference usually held in October or November each year • NO FRILLS-Annual Business Conference; usually held in March-Will be at Winthrop in South Carolina this year (March 11-13,2005) • SAACURH State Associations: ALURH,GRHO, FARH, TCARH, KARH, VACURH, MARS, NCARH,SCORE, (Krista Stringer, SAACURH Regional Development Coordinator rdc@bama.ua.edu) • Visit RDC Website at www.bama.ua.edu/~rdc

Affiliations • To be affiliated with NACURH,go to www.westga.edu/~rdc You may also contact Michael Davis, SAACURH Regional Affiliations Coordinator at rac@westga.edu • Once you have affiliated with NACURH, you are affiliated with SAACURH and will have voting rights at ALL SAACURH conferences. If not affiliated, you will only have speaking rights. • To affiliate with your state, please contact your state director or visit your state websites. (you can get state info by visiting www.bama.ua.edu/~rdc)
Why Affiliate? • You get voting rights at all SAACURH and NACURH business meetings • You get to order 100 RFI files from the National Information Center • These files contain ideas of successful programs and events from campus all over the country.
At the School level • Your school should either have or begin to form a Residence Hall Association or equivalent. • Contact Krista at rdc@bama.ua.edu for a “RHA Start Up Kit” • It's always helpful to have an executive board member in charge of communicating with the state , region, and nation and in charge of getting delegations to conferences (National Communications Coordinator)
“Of the Months”(OTMs) • The person who is in charge of communicating with the state, region and nation, should also begin to submit OTMs. • These are ways to recognize great programs, and/or people at your school. (see sample forms) • These forms are due by 11:59pm on the 15th of each month. You may submit them by to http://otms.nrhh.org.
National Residence Hall Honorary(NRHH) • www.nrhh.org • NRHH recognizes the top 1% of student leaders living on campus • They concentrate on recognition and community service
SAACURH AD-NRHH • Please contact Rachel Grossman at rg63108@appstate.edu for more information on OTMs or NRHH. • She is the official officer that deals with each of these items.
“To Do” • Visit the SAACURH website (www.nacurh.org/saacurh) to learn more about SAACURH • Have at least one person from your school sign up on the SAACURH list serve (go to the website to sign up) or contact Hope Cannon at stu29763@westga.edu • Affiliate with NACURH by going to www.westga.edu/~rac or by contacting Michael at rac@westga.edu • Visit the NACURH site at www.nacurh.org to sign up for the forum to communiate with schools from all over the country and to learn more about NACURH
