(DCS Commissioning 6-02-07) • KEY dates • Commissioning on surface: “C” part of the detector is at CERN and was checked last October. The “A” part will arrive to the lab at CERN from Finland mid March • Detector installation in UX: 30 March – 4 April for “C” part. No access till August, when the “A” part goes down (planned 28-29 Aug). • Accessible for DCS: for tests in June, fully in August

(DCS Commissioning 6-02-07) • SUB-SYSTEMS TO COMPLETE • HV/LV • PVSS: Implemented in PVSS 3.1 and tested with final hardware. Already ported to 3.6, to be tested with the hardware. Action: Tatiana with her student • FSM: Follows HMP and V0 design. Waiting for HW from repair. Target date: end February. Action: Tatiana. • HW: • mainframe: delivered one week ago, but was broken (no boot screen). Returned to pool, no estimate for the repair time yet. Tatiana will check the status
Status [HV/LV] • Hardware: • SY1527 mainframe – in Lyon • 3 x A1733N Power Supply Units –was tested by • Electronics pool . A1733N are in T0 lab being tested • 2 x A1533 LV Power Supply Unit, 6x10V/2.7A was • received at CERN some days ago • Software: • 1. Use PVSS 3.6 • t00_dcs project updated to 3.6 • Framework 3.0.0 • FSM updated to 3.6 • ALICE UI 3.0* • 2. Upgrading software version • From PVSS V3.1 to PVSS V3.6 done • at home Institutes, not yet tested with • final hardware. • 3.Will be tested during the March • *) Start testing 05.03.2007
(DCS Commissioning 6-02-07) • FEE fast • PVSS: DIM server connected to PVSS was used for tests in October. DIM server will be upgraded in February; final PVSS implementation depends on delivery of electronics (7 different types of modules) but will be ready before installation. Action: Tatiana and her student. • Not yet done( Electronics production not yet completed)
Status [Fast electronics] Delivered at CERN: -A2818,V2718 Orded: 2 NIM crates with power supplies (PS) PS: Wiener Power supply UEP22 (300W), ( +/-5V / 17A, +/-12V / 3.4A, +/-24V / 3.4A). - Crate: Wiener 5U NIM crate Crate UEN03 12 slot card cage. 2 VME crate PS: Wiener 0P17.0711 Power-Supply 7237 6U (+5V/100A, +/-12V/10A). – Crate: Wiener 0B06.3B5J1: Card-Cage 7219 VME64x BIN, Local PSU, 21x6U, RP0 access, Mag tolerant. The crates with PS are expected to be delivered to CERN in March/April 2007.Modules: Electronics production not yet completed Ordered: 2 CAEN LED 895B

DIM server required to control DRM via A2818 or Ethernet – the software will be copied from TOF (Pietro Antonioli & Ombretta Pinazza), more details beginning of March. Action: Tatiana • FSM: not implemented – target end March – action Tatiana • HW • CPDM/TRM: modules received from TOF last October, partial setup exists. Final modules to be delivered in March
Status [Readout electronics] Delivered at CERN: 2 TRMs, 1 CPDM , A2818 card,T0 Alice box -DRM (prototype delivered at CERN last weekend) was tested in Bologna DRM final version –end of April Ordered : A3486, A1676,A3000(filter) Software for DCS will be provided by TOF group : 1.PVSS project to control ALICE BOX 2. PVSS project to control DRM
Cabling for CAEN Easy • 48V service power • To power control part of the Easy crates/modules • Propose to add small power supply in same rack as branch controller • We will take care of PS and cabling Taken care of by DCS In UX racks In CR racks (From Andre Augustinus)
Status [Laser Calibration] Laser Attenuator Ethernet-RS232 interface (Digi One) • Hardware: ready for installation • Software: • 1. Standard: PVSS 3.6 + FSM • PVSS exists, tested with hardware • FSM: 1st version exists, but might be modified, depending on the calibration procedure(calibration procedure not yet fixed)
CFD Control (CANBERRA 454) ELMB&DAC for CFD. The versions tested in CERN: PVSS: 3.1 (3.1 with all patches) OPC server for ELMB: 2.9.1 (now avaible 2.9.1 - requires .net Framework 2.0) JCOP Framework: 2.3.6 (with installation tool - now avaible: 2.3.8 for PVSS 3.1 and 3.0 for PVSS 3.6). ELMB Framework 3.3.1 (now avaible: 3.3.3) I will try to update this to newest versions (including PVSS 3.6).
Crate control -L.Wallet will provide tools for VME crate Control. -NIM crate control (the same solution as for CFD) -readout VME crate (TOF solution)
