Emily , Alexis , Matthew , Emylee The Cold Plant Experiment
Variable Being Tested The variable we are changing is the temperature.
Control and Experimental Groups Our control plant will be room temperature and in the window and closet , every other day. Our experimental plant will be in the refrigerator, one day then in the window another.
Our Hypothesis If we put our plant in the refrigerator, then the plant won’t be able to grow because the soil will be to hard.
Observations 2/15/12 Our control plant is green and its leaves are sticking up. Our experimental plant is green with its leaves sticking up also. 2/24/12 Our experimental plant leaves are standing up straight. Our control plant leaves are drooping over.
Hypothesis Statement Our hypothesis was wrong because our plant grew but the soil was hard like we predicted.
Conclusion Statement From this experiment, we learned plants do not grow very well in the cold, because its leaves shriveled up.
We would keep one plant in the refrigerator all the time instead of alternating days. Future Experiments
