The two main tools used for this are the CAT and Genny, CAT being an abbreviation for Cable Avoidance Tool, and Genny being Signal Generator. In most situations,theCATandGennyshouldbeusedincombination. However, you cannot just buy one of each of these and simply read the instructions. That would be like buying a car when you have never driven before, jumping into the driver’s seat, and off you go! Youprobablywouldn’tgetpastthefirstcorner!
