Franciscan things to do • Participate in the Transitus • This ritual is held the evening before St. Francis’ feast day on October 4. It commemorates his passing into eternal life by using readings describing his death interspersed with readings from the Gospel. It is held in churches or areas where there are Franciscans. It is currently held in St. Lucie’s Church in Port St. Lucie.

Things this Franciscan likes to do • Keep holy reminders in your home, i.e. icons, statues, holy pictures, crucifixes, etc. • Offer a fresh flower or flowers to your statues or images of the Blessed Mother (St. Leopoldo Mandic always offered fresh flowers to our Lady) • Give holy reminders as gifts especially as wedding presents or to lapsed relatives. Many wonderful and inexpensive religious books and holy reminders are available in thrift stores.
